Autumn 2024 Plantings

Explore APSOV's exciting developments for autumn 2024!

WHEAT

Our breadmaking selection includes well-known varieties like Anversa and the newly introduced Atlanta. This year, we're adding two new red-grained: Atene (winter, late) and Austin (winter, medium-late).
Algeri and Artek are high-quality grains known for their tolerance to fusarium head blight, bridging top quality and premium bread wheat.

In the strong category, we present Ardes (winter, medium), joining Apulia (early, alternative) and Amistad (winter), which offers exceptional plant health. Rebelde remains Italy's most cultivated variety.

We're also expanding our Qualidose® range. Introducing Acuna (early, highly productive) for second harvests, and Alagir, an extremely early, dual-purpose with high biomass and grain yields.
For biscuit-making, our new Ampara meets mill quality standards and is suitable for forage production due to its high biomass yield.

DURUM WHEAT

Platone leads the Po Valley, known for excellent resistance to lodging and fusarium head blight. This autumn, we're introducing Socrate (late, medium-short stature). For the north, we have Mameli, valued by pasta makers for its quality, as well as Colombo and Diogene.
In other regions, Bering is an outstanding choice for quality and productivity, joined by Caboto, Tirex, and Gregorio (early, rust-resistant, suitable for challenging environments). Confucio (medium, rust-resistant) completes our offerings.

But the news doesn’t end there...

BARLEY

We've rapidly renewed our barley offerings. In addition to modern varieties like Virgini, a two-row barley resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV), and the winter multi-row Gemini and Bilancia (highly resistant to lodging), we're introducing two new medium-early varieties: Tauri (two-row) and Draco (multi-row), both semi-alternative and resistant to BYDV.
In the Qualidose® range, we're introducing Fenice, an early-maturing, dual-purpose (grain/silage) barley with excellent biomass production and genetic resistance to BYDV. The Qualidose® patent combines genetic improvement, technological solutions, and cultivation techniques. We're enhancing our "technology package" with LANGIS, an insecticide effective against soil pests, and YMPACT, a fertilizer that improves germination and nutrient availability with its blend of organic and mineral substances.

FORAGE AND PULSES

We offer a wide range of forage cereals and grasses, suitable for various agronomic situations, and a comprehensive range of grain legumes. New autumn-sown protein peas include Faquir (green seeds) and Furious (yellow seeds), alongside fava beans Irena and Prothabat.
Alamo is our chicpea, high resistant to Lodging and Dehiscence.
